Privacy Policy
STR Regs (“we”, “us”) provides short-term rental regulatory maps and reports at str-regs.com. This policy explains what we collect and why.
Information we collect
- Account data — email address, optional name, and a hashed password if you register with email/password.
- Google sign-in — if you use Continue with Google, we receive your Google account email, basic profile name fields, and a stable Google user id (subject). We do not receive your Google password.
- Session cookies — an HTTP-only session cookie so you stay signed in while using the product.
- Usage / security logs — standard request logs and authentication events (for example sign-in, password reset) used to operate and secure the service.
- Google Analytics — we use Google Analytics 4 to measure site traffic (pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type, and referral source). Google may set cookies or use similar identifiers as described in Google’s Privacy Policy.
How we use information
- Authenticate you and provide access to maps, lists, and reports.
- Send transactional email such as password reset links.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and debug outages.
- Improve the product (aggregated, non-marketing analytics where applicable).
We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing
We use infrastructure providers to host the site and send email (currently Cloudflare and related email sending), and Google Analytics to measure usage. They process data only to provide those services. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the service and users.
Data retention
Account records remain until you delete your account or request deletion. Session cookies expire after a limited period of inactivity / max age. Security logs are retained only as long as needed for operations.
Your choices
- Update or delete your account data — see Data deletion.
- Sign out anytime from the product header.
- If you used Google sign-in, you can also revoke STR Regs access in your Google Account permissions.
Children
STR Regs is not directed to children under 13.
